York Quay Neighbourhood Association 2017-09-13
Thanks again to the York Quay Neighbourhood Association for the opportunity to speak on developments at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, the airport so close to where the residents of YQNA live. The topic of the proposed runway extension is one that seems to have gone away, but in fact remains on the back burner, and not far away from the desires of those wanting airport expansion.
This presentation focuses on the topic of Runway End Safety Areas at BBTCA and across Canada, as regulatory changes are in process that will affect the Island Airport. These changes could be used as a wedge to re-open expansion talks and deserve close attention and vigilance. This presentation complements the talk presented to YQNA on 2016-11-23 as both relate to airport expansion initiatives still underway even while the Porter Jets proposal is halted.
